Beware Of Fake Virus Messages
This is important and once you know this you should feel pretty more secure browsing the Internet.
Talking about messages that warn you about a virus that has infected your computer. The warning message appears in your browser after loading a certain website. The website itself generates this fake message - and it usual states something like this:
"Your computer is infected with spyware called: trojanxpcd Click OK to download this software that will protect and remove trojanxpcd from your computer."
Trjoanxpcd is just an invented name for this example.
Now when you click OK to download the software that should clean your PC you are doing the wrong move. Clicking OK is how you download the trojan. So in other words they are trying to trick you - and you yourself download the trojan if you select OK.
So just ignore these message, and best way to do it is by CLOSING your web browser or the particular website.
Clicking CANCEL can also be risky.
Now these error message do not usually popup if you have the security software:
1) An antivirus
2) An anti spyware and adware
3) A firewall software
In fact I never see these messages, only when I bought my computer for the first time did I get irritated by these things.
The internet security software have marvelous features to protect your computer. They are indispensable tools.
They also warn you sometimes of an infection but obviously you will see a CLEAR difference between their messages and the FAKE messages from your browser.
If you see a message that comes from NoAdware software for instance the popup window will load from the right side of your monitor, near the clock where NoAdware icon is located.
Generally speaking the fake messages appearing out of websites on the Internet. While if it was your real Internet security software they will load from your windows not from your web browser.
Common sense is a very powerful (if not the most powerful) sense! If you already have Internet security software installed on your computer the messages they present will not tell you to download a software to cure your PC.
Here's the bottom line.
1) Protect your computer by downloading reputable Internet security software.
2) Then when you see a message make sure it comes from one of your software...
Another method to prevent these messages is to avoid visiting porn related websites. They are some of the most dangerous websites.
