Yesterday I told you I’m going to mention how to prevent viruses and so on. You’re going to NEED a pen and paper seriously. You need to just write the following down somewhere to remember them.
The THREE software you need to have on your computer.
Here’s what to write down on a piece of paper:
1) You need to scan your computer with antivirus software once every 3 months. If you use your computer rarely like once a week only you can scan once every 4 months. But in any case scan often, at least once every 3 months.
To scan right click on the icon and click on Start avast! Antivirus
Then wait 1-2 minutes until you see the main screen:

Here’s how to scan:
Select Local Hard Disks:

Move that pointer by clicking it and dragging all the way to Thorough
(Click image to see it bigger)
Then click Start scan
(Click image to see it bigger)
If the antivirus software finds any viruses there will be a message and a button called Move To Chest. Click on that one, stay relaxed. Just click on that button.
Once the antivirus has finished just click the OK buttons to close it. Remember never exit the software, the icon should always be there of course even after you scan your computer. If you’re connected to the Internet the antivirus icon should be near the clock.
The second thing to remember is that when you see this message click on it:
That message is notifying you that there are new updates. All you have to do is to click on it and then wait until updates are installed. This small message is displayed near the icon near the clock.
This is not rocket science to do – just follow the instructions and if you get stuck somewhere drop me a message.
Next coming up: Anti spyware software and registry cleaner software – the two other software you should have and use on your computer. To make sure you read these posts with a pen and paper enter your name and email in the boxes on the sideber – you’ll get notified via email once I add new posts on this blog.
OR you can use the RSS feed to subscribe in RSS readers like Google Reader and read this blog and all new blog posts directly from an RSS reader like Google Reader.
Stay Tuned!
