Where Can I Play Fifa Online
I know someone wants to know this answer… and there’s my recent experience that should help. I played Fifa 2009 (a soccer game) online this summer 2009. Just for a quick break.
You need of course the game, Fifa 2009 there’s also rumors that Fifa 2010 is in the making. You can get the game from stores or online from http://www.direct2drive.com
To play online, install the game, start it and then from options you just select Online Play, you’ll also will be asked the first time you start the game to create an EA account. You have to be logged in to this account (you’ll see login form in the game) to go online.
That’s it. Also refer to the manual to allow your Firewall access to the game. There are important detail about multiplayer and Firewall otherwise you’ll have a tough time to find a player to play against.
The common problems with online play that are also being asked in the EA forum very frequently I shall address here.
EA forum is here: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/fifa-09-pc/
One commone problem is the Ready To Play button or link.
When you find an opponent then you have to click on that after selecting the team you want to play with. However most of the time you won’t be able to click it because the server cannot connect to EA servers, (technical stuff).
To solve that you have to download one or two patches – these are just files you install on your PC. To get them contact EA support and tell them you want the latest patches of the game – and the patches about the Ready To Play link not working. They will perfectly understand you.
If you want to play not just wait – do that, and download EA download manager when you are asked to do so (during game installation).
If you have problems with your gamepad if you prefer to use one instead of keyboard refer to EA forum(link above). There are several topics that cover the issue.
My experience with game is that you will have some fun, depending how much you will love the game or how much you love soccer games – it’s up to you that. But you can experience some technical problems that you cannot do nothing about. Like the Disconnection Error message. This occurs when either your opponent disconnects intentionally (like he is loosing 5-0 and quits); it does happen… or the server gets disconnected.
Also selecting some teams for me it was Juve you can experience bugs. If Del Piero scores the connection gets lost for example. But you have to play and see, it might work well with Juve for you.
Fifa online play also uses Leaderboard and ranking system where you are awarded points for winning and your rankings increase – they have information how that works too.
Hope this was helpful. The thing I know for sure is it was quite a long post.
