Word 2007 Keyboard Shortcuts
The following are the 29 most commonly used Word 2007 shortcut keys that you can use. Those keyboard shortcuts can practically replace the mouse. The shortcuts is combination of 2 or more keys, for example, the Alt + H : Press and hold the Alt key follows by the H key.
Ribbon Navigations
1. Alt + H: Go to the Home tab
2. Alt + N: Go to the Insert tab
3. Alt + P: Go to the Page Layout tab
4. Alt + S: Go to the References tab
5. Alt + M: Go to the Mailings tab
6. Alt + R: Go to the Review tab
7. Alt + W: Go to the View tab
Note: After you hit the Alt + key to get to the tab you want, the items on the tab will have another key you can hit to use them. Hit Alt on any tab to see the shortcuts or use them.
Copying and Deleting Text
8. Ctrl + C: Copy selected text or graphics to the Office Clipboard.
9. Ctrl + X: Cut selected text or graphics to the Office Clipboard.
10. Ctrl + V: Paste most recent addition (text or graphics) from the Office Clipboard.
11. Backspace: Delete one character to the left.
12. Ctrl + Backspace: Delete word character to the left.
13. Delete: Delete one character to the right.
14. Ctrl + Delete: Delete one word to the right.
Opening and Saving Document
15. Ctrl + N: Open a new Document of the same type as the current document.
16. Ctrl + O: Open a Document
17. Shift + F5: Go to last location you were working in when document was closed.
18. Ctrl + S: Save a Document
19. F12: Open Save As dialog box
20. Ctrl + W: Close a Document
Editing/Reviewing/Printing Document
21. Ctrl + Shift + 4 (not num key 4): Show/Hide Paragraph marks and hidden text
22. Shift + F1: Reveal Document Formatting
23. Ctrl + D: Open Font dialog box
24. Ctrl + Shift + E: Turn off/on Track Changes
25. Ctrl + Backspace: Delete one word to left
26. Ctrl + DELETE: Delete one word to right
27. F7: Spelling / Grammar check
28. Ctrl + P: Print Document
29. Ctrl + Alt + I: Print Preview (toggle between)
