Gmail Invitation Code
Someone with a Gmail account can send you an invitation to open up a Gmail account. So this fuss now ended I know, you no longer need an invitation to open up a Gmail account.
This was used by Google at first to make their email client look more interesting, curious, so it was only “by invitation” thing – you could only get an account if someone else invited you. That made their Gmail service very popular.
Instead of opening the doors for everyone – they made everyone crazy, everyone wanting an invite… this worked very well for them.
Today of course you can still send or receive invites from your Gmail account… You can send up to 100 invites. It’s like a tell a friend service, that we’ve just added to our website and blog.
