Create Ebooks From Microsoft Word
Ebooks are electronic books, means books which you read online – not in hardcover but in digital format. You read ebooks using adobe reader.
Now, to create ebooks there are various tools, but you can do it free too using Microsoft word.
First just create the content of the ebook in word. Then use a tool that converts the document into pdf. Tools to do that include (please check out which one is the best yourself, plus cost, most are free):

So some converters tell you to upload the word document file and they convert it online in pdf – that fast.
Others install an icon in your Microsoft word and you just click it to convert document into pdf.
But the other method which is free like some of the above methods is using OpenOffice tools which you can download from:
http://download.openoffice.org/ Now this can be the easiest method, but test out the others too maybe you feel comfortable using something else.
After you download the free OpenOffice tools open up the tool called OpenOffice.org Writer (sometimes called Writer).
This allows you to create documents and with a click of the button it transforms them in pdf files. So you can create the document just like you do in Microsoft word using this tool, instead of using Microsoft word. This tool has the same features.
If you already wrote the document in Microsoft word, you can open it up in Microsoft word, select all and copy everything – then paste in Writer.
Or you can also test out to see if you can open the file directly using Writer. If not also test out using the Writer Convertor tool from File > Wizards > Document Convertor. This allows you to convert your Microsoft Document into Writer document, so you can then open the Writer document using Writer… then edit the document how you wish and convert into pdf. Writer documents are called .odt
So there are free options and definitely you should find a solution using OpenOffice.org Writer tool.
