How To Clean Flatscreen Lcd Monitors
STEP One
Turn off the monitor.
STEP Two
Dampen a clean soft cotton cloth with water and gently wipe the screen. Be careful not to press too hard or else you may damage the screen.
These can damage your screen if you use any of them:
paper towel
dirty cloth
methyl chloride
acetone
ethyl acid
ethyl alcohol
ammonia-based cleaners
Whatever you use spray it on the cloth not the screen or it can leak behind and ruin the electronics inside.
Now there are other methods which I mentioned below:
- Endust wipes. They come in a pop-up plastic jar.
- Windex. They also have wipes you can buy but spray the paper towel with it first, before cleaning the screen.
- Anti static wipes.
- Glass cleaners. (If you have a glossy screen, DO NOT use glass cleaner, the ammonia will destroy the gloss.)
- A damp soft cloth, with warm water and vinegar mix. Not soaking wet, but damp.
- Amp rag and wipe it dry with a clean paper towel. If its grease you might have to use windex.
- You can get wipes specifically for cleaning the screen. For example: ‘Screen Kleen’ from www.screenkleen.com
- LCD screen wipes work good, but a microfiber cloth is much better. (the ones you receive with your sunglasses)
From electronic stores you probably can find LCD cleaning kits. There is a great cleaning tool called “Monster Cleaning Kit”. It is used for anything not just computers and Tv screens.
