Mcafee On Demand Scanning All Files Computer Slow Down
I used Mcafee for a short period of time - it was slow on my computer. However you should not scan all files on your computer while you are working with the computer.
By that I mean you should do a scan when you are not using the computer. Let Mcafee do its work in peace. By working at the same time you will disturb Mcafee scanner.
The scanner needs computer power (to use simple terms). If you are using any program, such as Internet Explorer, Messenger, Microsoft word then you are using a bit of computer power. Now if you use a lot of power your computer runs slow.
So the idea is to allow Mcafee scanner to use all the power. Do not work with other programs at the same time. Mcafee needs a lot of power to work properly. If there is not enough power cause you are using the power on other programs your computer will run slow.

These software that scan your entire computer need a lot of power to work. I am trying to make this simple by using simple terms like power.
They are not like your Messenger for instance. The messenger needs little power so you can work with other programs at the same time.
There is enough power for multiple programs to run at the same time on your computer - if each program needs little power. However if the programs need a lot of power that will slow down your computer. Such programs are security software and they need a lot of power only when they are scanning.
So it is not just Mcafee that will slow your computer if you are working with other programs. Most often even other scanners like NoAdware scanner, Avast scanner ... some may need a little less power than the others.
Your computer in this case slows down because of Mcafee scanner using a lot of computer power. In other cases the computer slows down for several other reasons. Such reasons include:
- An infection from a critical object like adware, virus, malware, spyware, trojan...
- You have too many unwanted files on your computer like software, programs, images, folders, shortcuts, games, downloads and things you do not use.
- You have XP and use a ton of bells and whistles on your computer - like windows themes, colors or simple you are still using XP default theme. Switch to classic. (Right click on desktop and select Properties - then choose Windows Classic Default)
- You have an old computer an still use desktop background themes and other bells and whistles. Those things require power and your old computer does not have much power. If your computer is old keep it simple.

You may also need to upgrade to a better computer - if it is an old computer.
In that case consult with a computer technician who can tell you which upgrade is best for your computer. I had Windows 95, then win 98 and now winxp - so you can see that my computer is very old. I needed an upgrade. I upgraded my RAM - which is the computer memory. More RAM in other words it means more power.
I also upgraded my computer disk space. Once again more disk space more power. These upgrades are done once. I only upgraded my computer once in about 10 years. You may already have enough RAM but few disk space or vice versa. A compute technician can analyze your computer and see what you require.
You will see big improvements if you need a RAM or disk space upgrade and you do it. These will replace your old RAM with new RAM - which is bigger and better - and same thing goes for disk space. This does not mean you replace your computer with a new one. You simple replace some of its functions in simple terms.
My computer, 10 year old approximately became as fresh as a new one with upgrades. Upgrades give enormous power to your computer. Power that your computers may need badly.
