Web Messanger
MSN messanger, Yahoo Messanger and Google Chat all allow you to chat with anyone worldwide using your web browser. No need of any software or anything to download.
You can use these on any computer where you cannot install software. So even at your friends computer, at school or at work you can still chat with anyone.
I explain how each one works. Feel free to use any messanger you want.
MSN messanger: Simple visit http://webmessenger.msn.com/ and follow easy instructions. All you need is a Live Account which you can get for free.
Yahoo messanger: If you use this one, and it does not work on Mozilla Firefox open it using Internet Explorer. http://webmessenger.yahoo.com/ You need a Yahoo ID for free too.
Google chat. You will signup for a Google account if you do not have one. Visit http://mail.google.com/mail/signup Then login to your Google mail account which you will receive access to. Inside your account you can add your friends and instantly chat from your account. You can invite people to chat with them and several other options.
All messangers are free to use. On the websites you will find any other information you require.
Your friends need to have their own unique id. That is how you can chat with them. Mine is internetblog8 if you wanna chat with me :) You simple add me to your friends list and I then accept or reject your offer. If I accept we can chat anytime we are online.
The best way to understand how it works is to go and try it out -- then come and ask questions in the comment section. I will answer fast, I promise.
PS: For those interested in software but hate to download both msn and yahoo software -- you can use Trillian. It is a free software that allows you to be on MSN and Yahoo chat at the same time. Super easy to use. I removed both yahoo and msn messangers and installed just one, Trillian.
They also have an upgraded version, for those users who need more features -- talking about heavy users or business people.
