The latest version of Mozilla does not scan downloads. Version number is 2.0.0.6

Even older versions - Mozilla does not have any build in scanner. Probably it is your anti virus or anti adware/spyware that is doing the scanning.

Depending on the software you are using, for antivirus or anti adware/spyware - go to its settings and there you may find a way to disable scanning of internet downloads or something similar to it.

However rest assured that it is not Mozilla.

The options you have with Mozilla downloads are:

- Remember what I've downloaded (turn on or off)
- Show the downloads window when downloading a file (turn on or off)
- Close it when all downloads are finished (turn on or off)
- Save files to (select location - example: Desktop)
- Always ask me where to save files (turn on or off)

There is no scanning options.

So my recommendation is to check your antivirus or antiadware/spyware software. Contact their support to see why.. Check their settings to see if you can disable them from scanning files you download from the Internet.
