Cannot Restore Windows Xp
Cannot Restore Windows Xp
Most common reason is because Windows Xp Restore is turned OFF. Some other reasons maybe -- you did not create a restore point, so there is nothing to restore.
First make sure Windows Xp Restore is turned on. To do that :
1) Click Start, then Run
2) Type in msconfig
then hit OK.
A window will popup - click on Services tab. Scroll down the list until you see:
System Restore Services
If the box is not ticked, then click the box to tick it. Then hit OK.
Check now to see if you can make a system restore point.
I also found Microsoft customer help very useful. They handle problems like these seriously. So I suggest you email Microsoft. This is how:
1) Visit Support Center
2) Select your country.
3) Select the version of Windows XP you are using. (Right click on my computer, select properties and you find your version number listed there)
4) Click Start Email Request.
Then keep on following the on screen instructions. Emailing customer support is the first thing you should do. They have all the answers - they created the system restore 'thing' so they know more about it than anyone else.
If it has been a long time since you made a scan with your antivirus and anti adware/spyware - do so to check for any infections and remove them.
Finally check Frequently Asked Questions and their answers related to Windows xp Restore Probably you find your answer there... If not, ask and you receive - (taken from the bible) Ask God and you will receive. And probably if God is not playing Formula 1 on his Playstation... he will do something to help YOU :)
